Jean Liedloff in the UK
Unfortunately due to a knee injury, Jean Liedloff has had to cancel the Continuum Concept Tour this Spring. There are hopes of it being rescheduled. For more infornation click here.
Jean Liedloff wrote the now bestseller ‘The Continuum Concept’ after her experiences with the South American Yequana tribe. She observed how contented a people they were and linked this to the way they treat their children. The ideas in ‘The Continuum Concept’ resonated with many many people including myself when i read it twenty years ago just after my first child was born. She describes the importance of the ‘in-arms’ phase and how crucial it is for a baby to be physically close to its mother, constantly, until it can crawl. As the baby grows and explores it is much more capable of dealing with natural hazards than our western culture imagines. She emphasised the importance for children of being around busy centred adults rather than being the centre of attention themselves. This book is in my top three books i have ever read in terms of shifting the paradigm we live in to a more happy one. I am so looking forward to meeting her!
