Stroke of Insight

UNMISSABLE!

Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened — as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding — she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.

interesting quote from the comments:

‘Thats pretty much exactly the experience you get from LSD or Mushrooms.
Which puts this talk into an interesting perspective: She calls it “stroke of insight” and says how great it was for her - she is moved and behaves like you would expect from a prophet. She talks about “how much more peaceful our planet would be” if people could see that place.

Yet to experience exactly that, without the damage of a stroke is forbidden (in most countries) by law, and you might get to jail. Weird world.’

quite.
